Overflow Area
How to Create an Overflow Area
How to Create an Overflow Area for a Location
There will be instances where a property would like to add a “fake” locker to their system to handle overflows of packages. This would be a separate area where carriers could leave packages but in a way that they can still scan them into their Luxer One system to generate delivery notifications for residents. This document outlines how to set up a system to be able to accommodate this.

Go to Admin
Select “Locations” on the left-hand side
Search for the property by Property Name or Location ID
On the Location page, navigate to the “Lockers” tab and click the “Add” button
In the “Locker Type” dropdown, select “Overflow Area”
In the “Locker Number” field, enter “Overflow Area”
In the “Server” dropdown, select the first option
In the “Board Locker Number” field, enter “33”
The following checkboxes should be ENABLED:
Is Low Locker?
Is Visually Impaired?
Is In Service?
Broken Door Sensor?
ALL OTHERS should be UNCHECKED
In the “Delivery Notice” field, enter instructions for the carrier (provided by the property) for where to deliver their packages
EX: “Place to the left of lockers after scanning in”
EX: “Overflow Area is behind you outlined by yellow tape”
EX: “Overflow Area is located across the hall, next to the elevator”
Click “Save”
Click “Edit” on the left side of the Location page
In the “Overflow Area Description” field, enter a description of the Overflow Area location to be sent to residents in their package delivery notifications
EX: “To the left of lockers”
EX: “Across from the lockers, outlined by yellow tape”
EX: “Across the hall from the lockers, next to the elevator”

The “Delivery Notice” field has a character limit of 75
The directions in the “Delivery Notice” field and the “Overflow Area Description” should be as clear and concise as possible
This process will help ease challenges that properties have during busy delivery times, such as holiday seasons or “Prime Day”. Again, this is a “FAKE” locker and it can also be removed at any time when it is no longer needed.
